The morning was the sweet smell of the orange blossoms being blown by a gentile wind from the east. The sun arose to give forth its warmth before the clouds appeared on the horizon foretelling of the coming afternoon rains. Was today just another ususal day or not, that was my question, and my “fear”.
So many times we go through a day like this but never understand the real “fear” that many of us have. The thoughts of our finances, our children and their growing pains, the future, the car problems, the neighbors barking dog, or ourselves in making the decisions found in this life. We never know the consequence of poor judgments until later after the decisions are made. It is then that we feel the pain of it all, by a choice.
God does not give us more than we can handle at the time of this “fear” in our daily lives. He uses it as an instruction time for us to rely on his judgment for us. But do we rely on it, or do we let that “fear” draw us into despair and ulcers? That is our challenge everyday.
The apostle Paul did not let that “fear” move him away from his belief, and the aim of God for his life. He moved forward in the Faith that Jesus had directed for him. He knew, he believed, he became what he was made to be … the voice for the redeemer … and for the salvation of a millennia of followers of Jesus Christ. He was a patriot for Christ! He did not “fear” nor question the results of action as so many do today, my self included. That is our humanness.
Do we ask ourselves, What would Jesus do? Sometimes, but the “distractions” of today are many times material, not Spiritual. They are the cell phone, the video games, the sitcoms, the sports activities, and yes … the political ones too. They are the intent of evil to draw us away from what was those past lessons were to be learned, yet so many times we cast it away by being that what we may not see us as …. a Spiritual being. The Bible changed all that, or it should have.
Now I’m not a person who can quote Bible phrases verbatim, but I do know that the travels through this life have a purpose. A Spiritual purpose for others … by the Love that God has given to us all. Love is not material, it is goodness and caring from the heart of our humanness . When Peter got out of the boat as directed by Jesus to walk on water, did he question why? No, but his humanness made his decision wain and he began to sink, but then what happened, he regained that Faith in what Jesus told him and he rose up.
Do we do the very same thing? Yes we do, for we “fear” and are “distracted” by design of an evil intent within our minds. It is the intent to question Him, and the trust and confidence we place in Him … who was The Word at the beginning of all.
The re-evaluation of our consciousness is an ongoing process with the “fear” and “distractions” we all have to confront. We don’t need to “fear,” we need to … Trust in Him. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” - John 1:1-5.
