Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
The Arizona Republican Assembly, also known as AzRA, is set to elect new officers for the Executive Committee at their annual Convention on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Paradise Valley Community Center. All paid members are eligible to vote in this election.
At the same meeting, the body will be voting on new Bylaws. These Bylaws have already been modified and approved by the Board of Directors at an all day meeting on May 6, 2017. That Board is made up of the Executive Committee, all Chapter Presidents and all State Directors.
AzRA is positioning itself to grow its membership among conservative Republicans to become again a force in Republican politics in Arizona. The sad state of the Arizona Republican Party and its refusal to follow their own Bylaws as well as what most people would consider common decency has left a void in the Republican Party that AzRA aims to fill. AzRA says they are the Republican wing of the Republican Party!
AzRA is not new to Arizona Politics. For many years, it was the most influential organization in party politics. The organization was operated by stellar names in the Arizona Republican Party who were instrumental in electing true conservatives and influencing conservative legislation. The organization lay dormant for a few years but in 2014, Thayer Verschoor became President and reconstituted the organization with only twelve members. That quickly grew to over 400 members.
Candidates: (Floor Nominations Accepted)
Jim O'Connor, Scottsdale/Fountain Hills Chapter
Walt Steiner, West Valley Chapter
Ardith Hildebrant, Scottsdale/Fountain Hills Chapter (Ardith has been serving as Assistant Treasurer)
National Director (vote 1):
Linda Brickman, North Central Phoenix Chapter
Irving Scott, West Pinal/Casa Grande Chapter
Butch Kuentzler, West Valley Chapter
Those interested conservatives who want to abandon do-nothing organizations and be a part of an action oriented organization can contact AzRA at email@example.com for more information. All new applicants will be vetted.
I've heard of this organization, all good. Surprised to see Linda Brickman is a member and is running for office. She has quite a reputation even I have heard about. Hope that election goes well, as in NOT Linda Brickman.
I don't know all the people running for the At Large post, but I do know Irving Scott. If you are looking for an honest hard working person for the job. Look no further, Irving is the guy.
Arizona Freedom Alliance knows all candidates. We support Irving Scott. Irving is a great guy but the reason we support him is that a look at the Exe Com board shows a preponderance of members from Maricopa County. We believe the ExeCom as well as the membership would be better served if they add some diversity to the EC. Scott lives in Western Pinal County. We hope Irving gets the job.
