Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
Among the party faithful, the elected precinct committeemen, who are the ones who keep the rogue AZGOP aloft through shear force of will, the hot button question is: who killed the Proxy Bill? This bill affects republican voters in a backdoor way. It affects precinct committeemen and State Committeemen in a big way.
For those new to the inside stories on Arizona Republican organizations, proxy voting at annual state and county Republican meetings determine many things that will affect republicans in the state. One of the critical votes they take each year is for leadership. In even years, most of the governing board is elected from among the body of State Committeemen from every district. State Committeeman is a coveted job even though they have only one job: to attend the annual state meeting in January to elect officers. There is a lot of money involved. Choosing the AZGOP Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer in odd years decides who controls the money. Controlling the money decides who gets elected often times. It certainly controls who gets the nomination in the primary even though they all pretend they are neutral in primaries. Don't believe that for one minute!
Proxies are the main attraction at these meetings. Our Constitution provides for one man, one vote. That concept is thrown out the window at these meetings because of proxies. In Maricopa County and at the State meeting in the past two years, proxies elected the officers.
Again, for those new to this, proxies are affidavits that someone signs that gives their vote to another qualified committeeman. Some committeemen come to meetings with six to 20 proxies. That gives them 7-21 votes. Let that sink in.
Who is guilty of carrying so many proxies? The establishment committeemen, of course. Very little difference from being a democrat.
Constitutionalist committeemen believe we need to limit the number of proxies to two per person. That is still a lot. HB2012 is the number on that bill. It's a fair bill, overly fair in the view of some.
So, who killed that bill? McCain has a definite interest in killing that bill. He can't get his people elected at these state and county party elections without proxies. Ducey has an interest. He's owned by McCain. The chairman of the State Republican party has a huge interest. The Chairman gets elected by proxies (establishment) and except for one recent term, McCain's guys have gotten elected to lead the Republican Party.
So who killed the proxy bill? This is our guess:
Jonathan Lines (AZGOP Chair) to the left, Ducey in the center, doesn't matter who is on the right!
Bingo! Some things are so obvious but everyone keeps mum on open discussions. Let's just call it what it is. Masterful control of the vote (that's called voter fraud most places) in order to control the party to control the money. Anytime there is friction in a group, it's about the money. Always. With the money comes the power but it's the money that leads the way.
Correct editor of this article. Those people who have stopped us StateCommitteemen dead in our tracts, Congratulations and the effort to keep us from having power to change the face of the Republican Party in Arizona is at a stand-still with our current State Legislators holding up the bill for the freedom of the voters in this state. And Michelle Regan states there is no voter fraud in this STATE!!!! What a crock.
Correction: Reagan said that there was no hacking or fraud by outside sources in the Presidential Preference or General election. That has been backed up by independent inspectors. She has never said there is no voter fraud. I heard her say that there is fraud and it had to stop at the Recorder's office. It's the recorder that is committing voter fraud.
They always say follow the money, but I think follow the power. Sure there is money involved but the real eye-catcher is the power. It's like candy, once you have some you want MORE. It becomes an addition, and it takes over their will and thought process, their only goal is more, and more power. So they seek out those who can fulfill their urge and keep them in supply of their habit, POWER.
1) THIS SITUATION IS A LITMUS TEST, AND WE MUST MAKE THE MOST OF IT
2) THIS ISSUE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO UNITE ALL VOTERS--CONSERVATIVES, DEMOCRATS, AND INDEPENDENTS--AGAINST THE RE-ELECTION OF EVERY MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATURE.
3) IF WE CAN EXPOSE IT BROADLY ENOUGH, BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER, IT IS EVEN POSSIBLE THAT SUCCESSFUL WRITE-IN CANDIDATES COULD BE ELECTED IN THEIR PLACES.
HAVE they really stopped that bill dead in its tracks? HAVE they really beaten us again? Is there NOTHING we can do, now that they have signaled they will not bring the bill for a vote? I learned something last year, while challenging the AZGOP, by organizing a special meeting to remove the chairman. There is only one thing they fear, and that is EXPOSURE, the single most powerful antidote to lawlessness.
I learned something else about this that I feel is even more important:
It doesn't matter if you win or lose the actual battle for the issue that exposes them. It ONLY matters that they be exposed.
To get our heads on straight to accomplish this, we need to:
Turn our backs on any concern over losing the proxy bill.
Turn our backs on our anxiety about losing yet another battle.
Define winning as exposing. Period! Anything else we win is just extra. The more exposure, the more winning.
The byproduct of exposing will be the same one that I--and those who helped expose the leadership--experienced last summer: We were happy warriors. We won by exposing. And it was exciting and very satisfying to win.
If I may momentarily digress, I'd like to point out that this is precisely what President Trump has been doing since the beginning of his campaign, and throughout his first year+ in office. Yes, there are mixed results. For example, a federal court just put a stop to his DACA executive order--AGAIN!!! If you look at just this fact, you will say, "He can't win for losing!!" But, in truth, the lawlessness of the 9th Circuit Court--and our judiciary in general--is that much more exposed to a public now FAR more aware than in the past. At the same time, Trump continues to win in other areas--steel and aluminum tariffs, North Korea, the FISA Court scandal... In each of these cases, the huge win is the exposure of the falseness and lawlessness of every entity that is working against Trump, against Americans, and against America and its founding principles. And the ultimate result of multiple exposures is absolute defeat for the lawless. No other outcome is possible. We KNOW this, just as we KNEW, as tea partiers, that the only reason we couldn't get more traction was that, back then, no one was paying attention! Exposure, again! We couldn't get any, back them. But now we are dealing with an aroused nation. So it's time for US to switch gears.
Ask yourselves: What is the single Achilles Heel of elected representatives? Easy, right? Re-election. HENCE, THE CONCEPT OF THE LITMUS TEST.
Let's make the passage (NOT just the vote, but the PASSAGE!) of the proxy bill a LITMUS TEST on every single Republican AND Democratic member of the AZ legislature. If they fail to pass the bill, they fail to pass our LITMUS TEST. Consequence: We will then dedicate ourselves to informing all voters-- Republican voters AND Democratic and Independent voters--about this whole mess and how the entire legislature is screwing every voter, with this bill--AND WHY.
From now until the primaries, and after that, until November to deprive any or all of them of either renomination or re-election, via much more exposure. And while we are doing all of the work involved in that, believe me, we will be happy warriors.
And let's publicize a list of write-in candidates--one for every single race, and give that list of names to every voter we can, across the state. It's time that the voters of Arizona be HEARD. And it does NOT matter if none of them win. It only matters that we did it. Every step we take helps to expose. It's concrete proof that we're made enough that we will not take it anymore.
Why will this work? Because, I believe, not just Republican voters, but democrats and independents will fully understand the very deep unfairness of this proxy situation. It works against EVERY voter. Not just Republicans. And another reason: Because this issue hurts ALL voters, it will be a tremendously unifying issue that will cut hard against the current// effort to turn Arizona blue. This could be something we could build on, in other ways.
One point bears repeating, because this is OUR Achilles Heel: DO NOT WORRY ABOUT LOSING THE EFFORT TO GET THEM TO PASS THE BILL. THE PROXY BILL ISSUE IS THE MECHANISM OF EXPOSURE, THE PROOF OF THE WRONGDOING. THAT. IS. ALL. LOSING ALMOST HELPS US! IT PROMPTS THE PUNISHMENT AND CAN MOTIVATE ALL VOTERS.
Instead of our knee-jerk disappointment and sense of powerlessness, we can view their failure to pass the bill as a very clear message to all the voters in the state: They do not care about us. In fact, they are actively working against every one of us. Therefore, they do not deserve to be re-elected. Period. In essence, they will HAND US THE MESSAGE THAT WILL UNDO THEM.
