Utterly brilliant.

Whichever side you stand with the bottom line is - crooked politicians who line their own pockets and those of the people who help them stay in office. Since Congress was controlled by Democrats for the last half of the 1900's we have seen the theft of Social Security, the IRS become a power unto itself, death taxes causing families to lose their farms, millions of illegals allowed in to enable businesses to hire cheap labor, the complete failure of the war on drugs, the Jimmy Carter joke of an Energy Department to help us become energy independent, and the growing dependency on welfare by people who never hold a job and love those taxpayer assisted abortions. Do we honestly expect an Article V Convention or Congress to fix these things? I think not! The Democrats have successfully removed the basis for morality from our public school systems and since most young kids believe we are the product of evolution thanks to their teachers and science textbooks there is no basis for morality. Every man does that which is right in his own eyes. Why not a convention to return Bible reading and prayer back into our education process? What is so offensive about the teaching of the 10 Commandments? Exodus 20 - read them!

Jerry you have hit a significant amount of truths.  Actually it all started in 1913 with the creation of the Federal Reserve a private banking institution) that was in violation of the constitution.  I am not holding my breath in regards to the current Congress promises to revise the tax laws so a person can file income taxes on a post card.  I do have hope for the counties energy under former Texas Governor guidance to become energy independent.  Morality decline in our education system and society in general is more than what the democrats caused.  Apathy of the citizens, focus on material possessions and economic success, pastors in fear of the Lyndon Johnson IRS legislation amendment and the list goes on and on.  We can give full credit to the democrats for welfare, Obamacare, and all of the almost completed socialist programs.  NO a convention of states (COS) proposing amendments for ratification probably can not solve the ills of our federal government.  A COS can redefine the commerce clause and the welfare clause and force a balanced budget and kick the feds out of education, health care and place re-call and term limits on the Supreme Court.  There are over 2 million people in The U.S. who support a COS and the expectations are 10 million by the end of the year.  Some charter schools do read the bible and pray - not to Allah.  The brain washing of PHD students began in 1913 and as the PHD became professors the brain washing has trickled down to teachers and the K-12 students.  However in the last 24 years Muslim Brotherhood aided by Obama ( a Muslim) have skipped most of the college students and gone directly to the K-12 kids.  So the constitution also needs to kick the federal government out of education and welfare and return the Federal Reserve functions to Congress and administration - no end of opportunities.

marc, you can repeat that sentiment as many times as you want and it will still be untrue. Do you really think that all the persons chosen as delegates by their state legislatures would collectively be so corrupt as to ignore the instructions given by their legislatures and somehow all collude to propose amendments that would harm the country and reduce our freedoms and then somehow having now developed invulnerability by being a delegate that they could not be recalled by the legislature that sent them. And then somehow manage to achieve ratification by 38 states of all these evil amendments. If that is a credible scenario then we are indeed doomed as a free nation and we may as well surrender now and don our chains of slavery. These doomsday and conspiratorial predictions are not the stuff of which we are made. There are still many patriots who are honorable and willing to sacrifice for what is right and for the rights and freedom our Declaration of Independence so eloquently proclaims. The two million men and women (numbers that continue to grow) who have indicated their support for the effort to call an Article V convention are some of those patriots and they deserve a chance to see their nation regain and fulfill the promises made in that magnificent document.

Although we are not doomed We will figure a way out

I still haven't heard or seen a cogent explanation as to how Congress will be compelled to obey an Amendment to the Constitution any better than they're obeying the Constitution now.

Much of what Congress has done is with the blessing of the judiciary--remember the switch in time that saved 9 during FDR's administration when he threatened to pack the Court following its refusal to bless much of his New Deal legislation?

It is essential that an amendment restrain the judiciary.  That said, Congress should be subject to a Writ of Mandamus when there is a clear, concise, and direct Amendment which it chooses to ignore.

Who will execute the writ?

Like any writ, if they refuse, they can be held in contempt and a federal marshal begin arrests, starting with the Speaker, Minority Leader, Majority and Minority Leader.  That should get their attention.

Vaquero, I believe you just described the Common Law Grand Jury  That is exactly what can be done through this law.  I don't know where it stands now but it was going strong there for a while.  Maybe it's time to resurrect and use that.

The idea that the Judiciary is the real "balance" to the 3 equal branches of government today is a utopian fallacy. Each branch of our government has abdicated its responsibility to "We the People" and our forefathers intent within the Constitution itself. We have become a progressive society, one of lax morals, lack of integrity and ethics, and stupefied ignoramuses who believe that the government inalienable rights will save this nation's soul. It will not for it is the cause of our strife ... and enslavement BY Debt. Obama's new entitlement of "healthcare" made that wagon something all crave for as they jump on it "for care" BY a future Debt. They want "free care" to be the same as "freedom" and a citizen right that ... even Trump supports!!!  We are the frogs sitting in the kettle of warm, soon to be boiling, water. Limited government is no more ... it is a Centralized Authoritarian System that will not be denied under any circumstances short of all out civil strife.

John, do you see any method of changing the situation you describe?

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson

The best in books to make every conservative start thinking in new ways about America and the world being controlled by the Obama Administrations AND Republicans and Democrats.  Some surprises are in store for those who look!

Suppose the earth and its inhabitants exist in order to identify just what causes mankind continually to suffer so many troublesome problems and afflictions.

At present, most persons decide to act on whatever happens with their thoughts. But doing so puts them in competition with one of the creator's natural laws first identified by Richard Wetherill.

The answer is not complicated. People must stop basing their behavior on their personal thinking. Instead they have to act on the creator's thoughts, here being described in the English language as rational, honest, and morally right.

No longer should people reason from their concepts of good and evil, right and wrong, likes and dislikes, or whatever else comes to mind. Instead, mankind must think the creator's thoughts. That enables them successfully to do what is rational, honest, and morally right.

That may seem incredible until understood. But, consider that it is the way that mankind can escape the death penalty everybody has been paying since the days that people were created.

Join the survivors who have stopped their personal thinking. They now base their behavior on the creator's guiding thoughts to act in a way that is rational, honest, and morally right.
