...as He Hammers Washington Post Smears at Veterans Day Event

VESTAVIA HILLS, Alabama — Judge Roy Moore, the GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate here in Alabama, received a standing ovation from veterans and Republican supporters here at a public library at his first public event since the Washington Post smeared him earlier this week.

Moore’s condemnation of the Post came towards the end of a nearly 30-minute rousing speech honoring veterans and standing up for the principles of the United States just outside Birmingham here on Saturday morning.

“Now I want to address something that some people have come here to hear about,” Moore said in front 50 or so supporters, turning his attention to the giant pack of media who came to Alabama to report on this. “Shortly after becoming the Republican nominee for the United States Senate, the Washington Post began an attack on the Foundation for Moral Law, on my wife, and on me. For weeks, we read about my salary which they distorted, about taxes where they said we were paid money we never got. But we endured that.”

“Later, they came out and endorsed my opponent in this race,” he continued. “Just two days ago, the Washington Post published yet another attack on my character and reputation in a desperate attempt to stop my political campaign for the United States Senate. These attacks about a minor are completely false and untrue about something that happened nearly 40 years ago. But more than being completely false and untrue, they are very hurtful to me personally.”

“I’ve been married to my wife Kayla for nearly 33 years. We have four children. I have one daughter, and I have five granddaughters. I have the highest regard for the protection of young children,” Moore explained. “When I returned to Gadsen 40 years ago after military service, I went to work for the office of the District Attorney. As a student of the law, I have served in public office off and on for the last 40 years. To be attacked for allegations of sexual misconduct contradicts my entire career in law.”

“I wanted to make it clear to the media present and the people present, I have not provided alcoholic beverages—beer or anything else—to a minor. I have not been guilty of sexual misconduct with anyone,” he declared. “These allegations came only four and a half weeks before the general election on Dec. 12. Why now?”

Companion link from Yellowhammer:  Quin Hillyer: Mitch McConnell helped create this mess in Alabama

This is a recent photo from the presidential election cycle. This woman worked for the Clinton campaign and is one of the accusers:.

Another woman has said the WaPo offered her $1000 to make a similar accusation against Moore.  This is about as tawdry as it gets in politics.  Point the finger at the Democrats, the Republican establishment (McConnell, McCain) and the WaPo!

I had just read this in another article and I, personally think this is disgusting. They did it to Trump, and in the past many others as well. I am so sick of these evil democrats and esp. evil no good traitors like John McCain. I can't understand why on earth he keeps getting elected. Actually, I have done some major research on McCain and the things I found about him made me sick to my stomach. He should have been recalled years ago. IMO.

John McCain has been censored by the largest Republican county in the nation ... TWICE.  He doesn't stand for Republican values or an agenda for a smaller, more responsible government. He stands for his own ego. Much has been said about him, but one thing is for sure ... he no longer supports a party of unity, but since he lost the presidential bid he will demean that "R" brand at every turn so as to "just get along" with evil and that of a progressive human secularism.

Fake News will never tell us the truth about ANY democrat, nor the Clinton cabal of thieves, but they love to post headlines and the politics of a conspiracy of personal destruction.

John, just so the record does not get cloudy, McCain was CENSURED which is different from CENSORED and it was by the State.  I never heard of two times but he was once at the state meeting for sure. I think that was in 2013, could be wrong on that year.

Jan. 13 2014 the State GOP censured him.  In 2016, the members of the Maricopa County Republican Committee sent a loud message to the Party’s establishment by passing the “Anybody BUT McCain” Resolution at its annual mandatory GOP meeting. The resolution passed by a vote of approximately 921 to 582. Supporters of the resolution said the victory reinforced the previous censures of McCain.

Gila County GOP has censured McCain more than once.  I think he actually enjoys it, feeding his Maverick persona.

I think it is overdue time that victims of smears fight back with a vengeance in the courts, at a minimum with tort action and also in criminal court if any false reporting to law enforcement took place.  The Dems have benefitted for too long with these despicable methods.

Drain the swamp

Just picked this up from twitter: I think it was an AFA tweet

Looks suspiciously like the pix above in the article. That woman gets around for someone who has been traumatized for the last 40 years. These progressives are getting sloppy.  Looks like maybe 50-100 people at that event. Wow, that is awesome, Hillary.

Not hardly.  Eyes are wide open in the first picture, stance and hand formation are entirely different.

The second picture does reinforce the suspect credibility and mental stability of the said accuser though.

Blow the pic up. Same exact glasses. Same hair style and color. Same woman. The accusation is a farce.

What has happened to the concept that one is innocent until proven guilty? It is ever so easy to make accusations and extremely difficult to prove a negative. It's time those making accusations without presenting facts to a jury are held responsible for their irresponsible acts/accusations.

There is a statute of limitations on this stuff.  If an allegation is not made within that time, it should be ignored, in fact, considered as slander.  I have little sympathy for those that would sit on an allegation like this until there is no chance to prove or disprove an allegation.

Accusations like this absolutely needs dealt with.  But it has to be done at the time of the incident  or shortly thereafter.  Either make the allegation or don't.  Don''t change your mind years later.  Sitting on an allegation or waiting for years is not helpful, it is only inappropriate.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
