Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
Special | 29m
We’ll hear from former Arizona Secretary of State and lawmaker Ken Bennett, who is challenging Governor Doug Ducey in the Republican primary. Ducey was invited but declined the opportunity to participate in the debate.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Although Gov Ducey steadfastly refuses to show up anywhere Ken Bennett is speaking. He turns down all invitations if Bennett is included. He turned down the PBS customary debate between candidates for Governor. Could it be he hoped the program would not happen if he didn't participate? Could he have wanted to deny the public from hearing from his opponent? As the Governor, Ducey gets plenty of press daily.
As you watch, be sure to keep things in perspective. It will be easy to find the usually mild mannered Ted Simons to be overbearing. In fact, he is playing devils's advocate, standing in for challenges an opponent might bring up. We are glad he did that. Candidates who have to withstand challenges to their positions get to clarify those positions and solidify in the minds of voters whether the candidate is up to the job. You decide whether Bennett met the challenge.
Appointing people to the 2020 Arizona redistricting commission should be in the hands of a truthful leader.
