[Editor:  Where are our cowardly Representatives and Senators on this?]

Friends and fellow Americans

I am writing today to announce some very good news and share some very disappointing news about recent developments in Washington, DC.

As NAFBPO members travel around the United States talking about the situation surrounding Illegal Immigration we are constantly asked by the members of the audience, "Please, tell us what we can do to help?"  We are always wanting to accommodate our fellow Americans and now for the rest of the story and an opportunity for you to help make America safer.

It is Great News that Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama has recently introduced a truly remarkable bill, (S-1640 The Davis Oliver Act), in the United States Senate that would deal effectively with persistent enforcement problems presented by Illegal Immigration and in particular Sanctuary Cities if enacted.

Now for the disappointing news.  Only seven (7) sitting United States Senators have signed on to cosponsor this bill.  Where are the other ninety-two you ask?  That is a good question.  It seems they have become lost in a fog of less effective legislation that will not be as effective as S-1640 as a tool for Law Enforcement. You can help rescue those lost souls by looking at the list of seven Senators listed below.  If your Senator is not one of the magnificent seven, call them and ask that they sign on as cosponsors to The Davis Oliver Act, S-1640.

More Great News now from the United States Congress, The Peoples House.  Congressman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina introduced a wonderful bill in the House five months ago, (HR-1148).  We suspect it has not received many cosponsors because it is really a very effective piece of legislation that the Law Enforcement Officers in the field so desperately need.  So why, you ask, does such a great piece of legislation have only have (39) thirty-nine cosponsors?  Possibly the remainder too are lost in a fog of less effective legislation.  And as you know we live in lawless times and it should be no surprise that there is no rush in Congress to strengthen law enforcement capabilities.  Is your Congressman on this short list of Patriots?  If not, please call them and find out why not.  If they are, please call them and thank them for standing up for the American people and the rule of law.

Remember, it is not what a politician says that matters, it is what they do.  Cosponsoring Davis Oliver is evidence they are not open borders advocates.  If they do not choose to cosponsor either bill, well that also is useful evidence.

Please make those calls and contacts today.

As ever,

Rep. Gosar's co-sponsorship of this bill makes me proud I voted for him.  His is the ONLY name from AZ.  How can we vote for representatives/senators who will not support a bill to close our borders?  Perhaps after Congress returns from its August vacation more members will step up to support this legislation.  Do you think members will maybe read and reflect on this bill during their time away from DC?  Or, is it more likely they will be more involved in campaign financing and shaking hands at fund raisers?

This is another instance of ignoring the voters.  McCain again wants us vote for him -- why should we?  He has repeatedly vocally urged building a fence on the border but when offered an opportunity to support an actual bill he (and Flake) have ignored our pleas to sign as co-sponsors of S.1640.  We need to replace McCain.
