Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
The House Ways and Means Committee has voted to 23-14 along party lines to refer former head of tax exempt groups at the IRS Lois Lerner to the Justice Department for prosecution. Although the details about exactly what charges will be have not yet been released, lawmakers are arguing Lerner has not been truthful with Congress or the IRS inspector general and leaked confidential tax information.
Last time a referral like this happened, it was to Major League Baseball player Roger Clemens, who was pursued by the Department of Justice for lying to Congress but was exonerated in court.
This is a test for the Department of Justice and the Obama administration. What's more important? Baseball and steroids? Or the most powerful federal agency abusing its power to target innocent conservative groups?
Last summer President Obama called the targeting "outrageous" and promised to hold people responsible and accountable for what happened. If the Justice Department refuses to pursue charges against Lerner, it's fair to say one reason is because they don't want information leading back to the administration coming out in court.
Tomorrow the House Oversight Comittee will vote on whether to hold Lerner in contempt of Congress.
Now IF Congress will actually follow through...
The acts of Congress have to be backed up by the DOJ who still refuses to do anything against the DC corruption and the Obama holdovers who leak memo's and conversations, smirk, and steal from the working class. Remember it is "We the People" who still have to pay for the IRS enforced Obamacare individual mandates !!! Mr. Trump this is NOT a negotiation, an "art of the deal" ... it is a right or wrong issue. Act to clean up the DOJ .. or be acted upon at the next election.
I've been praying for this. Justice will finally be done. You do the crime, you do the time.
Now to go after some of these other characters like Eric Holder, George Soros, Barry Soetero, James Comey, etc.....
We need to also go after the Funding of the Settlements given out with Tax Payer $$$$$$$$'s for the Bad Acts of those in Office and Release All the Names before the upcoming Primaries of 2018, so the voters will really know the Truth about those running 4 Office. I'd also like to see some attention given to those in DC who've Enriched themselves by serving in DC no matter elected or otherwise, there's far to many who've gotten Rich while the US has gone deeper into Debt which effects the Lives & Futures of all of us, Demand Action Now.

Whoever is calling the shots does not want any waves made within the swamp. I suspect it is the big individual and corporate donors who don't want any transparency or changes.
If we had any True Servants of the Republic they'd call for an investigation of the Entire SWAMP Government in DC and the so called Conservative Talk Show Hosts could Promote it, however not holding my breath for either to do their jobs. God Bless You; Clair VAN Steenwyk
Why does it require Congress to have to refer her case to DOJ to initiate an investigation? If she broke the law, shouldn't the DOJ just do its job? And it's pathetic that all the Dems would vote against asking for someone to even look into what was clearly a violation of her agency's and executive position's role. More and more Americans are becoming disgusted with the corruption within the DOJ, FBI, IRS and other various federal agencies and the lack of the will of the DOJ various agency IGs to do anything about it. If a miracle does happen and she is shown to have violated laws (but probably still not punished), then let us make sure that the public is reminded that the Dems had tried to stop the investigation from taking place.
This is just more Political Theater in Politics, as they all swim in the same Septic Tank and all need to be Flushed Out of It. God Bless You; Clair VAN Steenwyk
The separation of Powers would allow for such actions, but Trump must not understand what is NOT a deal ... or no deal. A DOJ clean up is in order.
It will be interesting to follow this "prosecution" for more than one reason. This will be a major test to ascertain whether the "swamp" still has a tenuous grip on this nation's politics or if the draining of that swamp as promised by President Trump has finally become institutionalized enough to where these Obama administration criminals will actually be convicted and see jail time.
Absolutely amazing that this just got posted--and not amazing in a good way. This happened on April 9, 2014, during the 113th Congress. It's definitely not current.
Sounds then like Holder squashed this, so it's time for a re-do.
