Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
In an interview with “Fox & Friends,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said that he was going to recommend that Attorney General Jeff Sessions be held in contempt of Congress for the Justice Department’s refusal to cooperate with House subpoenas.
“On Thursday we discovered that they are not going to comply with our subpoena,” Nunes said. “The only thing left to do is we have to move quickly to hold the attorney general of the United States in contempt and that is what I will press for this week.”
Nunes and his fellow Republicans are trying to investigate the DOJ’s abuse of the FISA court system during the 2016 election, details of which were first revealed in the infamous “memo” that captured the nation’s attention a few months ago. According to the House Intelligence Committee, the FBI and the DOJ misled the FISA court in their attempt to secure a foreign surveillance warrant on an American citizen – Carter Page, an adviser to the Trump campaign. Relying primarily on the contents of the Steele Dossier to obtain the warrant, federal officials failed to properly inform the court that this dossier was unverified political propaganda bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.
Nunes and other investigators in the House and Senate have been dealing primarily with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein when requesting information and documents relating to the Russia investigation; last week, it was revealed that the House Freedom Caucus had actually drafted articles of impeachment against Rosenstein for his unwillingness to cooperate. Now, it appears that Nunes is shifting the focus to Sessions, even though he is recused from all matters relating to the 2016 election.
But even though Nunes insists he has not heard back from Sessions regarding a classified letter he sent two weeks ago, the Justice Department says otherwise.
“The Department has determined that, consistent with applicable law and longstanding Executive Branch policy, it is not in a position to provide information responsive to your request regarding a specific individual,” Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd wrote in response to Nunes’ query. “The Department and its intelligence community partners would welcome the opportunity to discuss whether there are other ways to accommodate the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s oversight inquiry.”
Rosenstein is a known apparatchik being controlled by head rat John Brennan. Nunes is another one of our 21st Century patriot! Pray for Devin's success with AG Sessions, who now displays his mossy underbelly.
I am going to be blunt here I say "pee or get off the pot". Just do it Nunes.
Way too much power for a Federal bureaucracy to hold. Drain the swamp.
