Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
WASHINGTON — Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night accepted the recommendation that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who took the reins of the agency during the turbulent days after the abrupt firing of James Comey, be terminated — two days before he was to retire and become eligible for full pension benefits.
Though McCabe — who has been attacked by President Donald Trump — stepped ..., he remained on the federal payroll, planning to retire on Sunday. The firing places his federal pension in jeopardy.
Unlike Trump's removal of Comey last year, which produced widespread resentment inside the FBI, McCabe's termination was recommended by the agency he served for 21 years.
Sunday is McCabe's 50th birthday, which would have made him eligible for certain substantial retirement benefits.
The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility proposed the termination, based on the findings of the Justice Department's inspector general. That office has been examining the bureau's handling of the Clinton e-mail investigation.
"After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of the Inspector General provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility," Sessions said in a statement at about 10 p.m. ET Friday night. "The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe. Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor — including under oath — on multiple occasions."
Why in the heck would he be entitled to huge entitlement benefits as a so-called public servant when he is only 5o years old? Say what? He should have to work another 15 years like the rest of us who pay his benefits that exceed ours by 10 or 20 to 1, not even counting the much earlier start. No wonder we're going/are broke.
McCabe will still GET his retirement payout .... after he turns 57 ... and there is nothing that would change that from happening. He's now 50, so all he has to do is go on CNN, MSNBC, and the talk show circuit to make money and claim he is "the victim of Trump's principles"... but we all KNOW what should happen to him and Comey, is what has happened to Martha Stewart.
18 U.S.C. § 1001 makes it a federal crime for anyone who "in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully ... makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation." The same statute has been used to convict and imprison Rod Blagojevich, Scooter Libby, Bernard Madoff, Martha Stewart, Jeffrey Skilling, and even track star Marion Jones (who lied about giving steroids). While you might have the right to remain silent, you certainly don't have a right to lie to the FBI .... even if you work for the FBI. There are no "white lies" in the FBI, and if the reputation of that FBI is to remain, the call to fire this cancer in the FBI was the only alternative.
Trump: "Well, Mr. McCabe .... seems your pension is in my hands. Maybe you could tell me why the FBI has been working against me and the American People for so long. Maybe you could tell us something about Hillary Clinton or Las Vegas or Sandy Hook or Levoy Finicum or Orlando or Douglas County." "Or George Soros." "Boy, that's a mighty big pension ..... it'd be a shame to lose it."
He will still get his pension after he turns 57.
Shouldn't be until he is 66-67 like everyone else not working for the government.
Here is a link to the full text of McCabe's statement after being fired. If you read it, you will wonder how a choir boy like him could possibly be fired. Yes, maybe he was a good guy in his early years in the FBI, taking orders, etc. This is politics and in politics, it's what have you done for us lately. Does anyone doubt the texts back and forth between Strzok and Page and the insurance policy at least the three of them were putting in place aka the Dossier? Did you know his wife got $1.2mil from the Clintons while McCabe was supposed to be investigating Hillary? Oh, he forgot to mention that in his statement along with other dirty deeds he pulled under Obama. He forgot about Strzok's buddy, the judge who decided Michael Flynn was a liar, but has now been vindicated. He forgot that he knew all about it, but has now tried to make it seem he was the perfect employee. Sorry, McCabe, cry me a river, Pollyanna Read it and wonder.
Don't forget that McCabe lied under oath at a Congressional Hearing; screwed up the Clinton Foundation investigation. People who attack Trump or Sessions for this are progressive commie nuts. There's a lot of them out there.
