Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
"Amazing how much gets accomplished if you don't care who gets the credit" is probably the truest statement of all. After running for office, I realized this is the biggest reason why nothing gets done. I am even guilty of holding back on an idea, in fear that an opponent or even ally will take the idea and run with it, thus getting the credit to use on their campaign or future campaign. On Tuesday evening, after much hoop-te-do and a little swearing, the Scottsdale
City council voted to approve the tentative budget for 2011/2012. In it, they
approved to change the way the employees for the city receive their overtime.
Although it effects all the employees of Scottsdale, it mainly effects the
police department, since they have the highest rate of overtime per employee.
Under the current system,…

In 1998, Arizona voters approved Proposition 105 to set limits on when the Legislature may modify statutory language in voter-approved ballot propositions. The Legislature may modify ballot propositions only if a three-fourths majority approves an amendment that "furthers the purposes" of the initial proposition. This limitation applies to all voter-approved propositions from 1998 onward.…Continue
