We the People must do something to stop presidential races that are controlled by campaign donors.  The presidency should not be for sale.

Ted is a great man the sad part is if we are to retain our freedom and follow our constitution then he along with Rubio and Jindle can not run. Natural born meant a citizen born of two citizen parents on our soil. that is why Mc Cain was woried the first time he ran.

I don't see one candidate playing catchup.  I like all the candidates you mention Sharon but the numbers are against them.  you say Carson doesn't need the money?  How is he going to travel around a country this big and meet the voters?  How is he going to establish several campaign offices and pay staff in 50 states?  How is he going to print millions of pieces of literature, millions of signs for 50 states.  Run ads on radio and TV.  To say he or any candidate doesn't need the money in a federal election is just foolhardy.  Local candidates can run with little money, not federal that have to win the entire country.  Wishing doesn't change facts.  I'm glad you started this post so we see how people are feeling,  Read the article about the GOPe on the Watching the elections to get a reality check.

Ernest, I hope you are right that Ben Carson can win.  Of all of the candidates, he is the one who does not need the personal spotlight, the money, is in no one's pocket politically as far as I can tell, speaks what is in his mind, and is a true conservative American.   Once again we have candidates who are not Natural born Americans, and others, like Trump who freely admit they buy political favors Most of you do not like Huckabee, and someone even claimed he is for big government, which i do not see. I think Scott Walker would do a good job. America is a melting pot, and this slate of candidates is certainly a reflection of that.  Trump has grabbed the spotlight becauae he was the first to say what conservative Americans have been saying to themselves.  Now the rest of the field is playing catch-up.

Pat I agreed with you I just said I don.t trust Trump.

Ernest, it doesn't matter what I think I now or what you think you know.  It's irrelevant.  You and others who are blinded by ideology must see that or we are doomed as a country.  Trump is not my first choice by any means.  But that article hit me like bricks.  It was the moment of truth, why conservatives keep losing.  We won't get that it is only about the numbers and it's been proven over and over.  Look at the last two lousy candidates we got for president.  the establishment got them the nominateion - McCain and Romney but the people wouldn't vote for them.  Fat lot of good that did.  Neither of them ran a professional campaign, they relied on the RNC, CoC and establishment types to pull them over the finish line.  The Dems are better at this game by far but this time, Hillary is digging such a deep hole, even the democrats say the country won't vote for a socialist and crazy Joe might be a lovable buffoon but he won't win if we have a dynamic candidate that can pull in the vote.  Did you read that link AFA posted down below in response to Gayla?  Well, read it.  Hannity knows the facts, too.  I say to my only democrat friend, you gave us this liar in chief and now you are paying the price just like the rest of us.  Buyer's remorse has a sour taste.

We all agree that they do the same thing every time and we do the same thing can we trust Trump he plays in their garden no ours. I know Pat that you think that Dr Carson can't win i think he can. Here is why if you take the RINOS supporters ad them together it is a solid 19 percent, All of the others make 80 how can we get them together for the good of the nation?

Comment by Pat J on August 17, 2015 at 7:24pm

Well, Gayla.  I can't disagree with a single thing you say.  But this is not politics as usual.  We have an entire secret (until now) cabal with a Roadmap working against us with the likes of the Koch Bros, the Chamber of Commerce, ever media talking head except Hannity, and you want to keep doing what we conservatives keep doing.  It failed then and it will fail again because it's not enough.  Why don't you see that.  First, you have to kill the monster (GOPe) then you can go back to doing what the original intent of the Constitution is.  It's not violating any principles to kill the monster first.  In fact, it's what sets us up to elect, later, candidates like Cruz.  Have you noticed that the entire Senate except Cruz and Scott are sold out?  Do you really think Cruz can win the country when he can't win the Senate?  You say what else can we do?  Here's the way: http://arizonafreedomalliance.ning.com/group/watching-the-elections...  This made a light bulb go off in my head like "THAT'S IT!!  THAT'S THE WAY WE MUST GO!"  But, ideologues like you won't help us.  I can see that.  I respect you for your loyalty but it's misplaced.  You loyalty is to our country, not a single candidate.

For context on Gayla's comment on Beck, here is the response from Beck's good friend, Sean Hannity:  Sean Answers Beck

Yeah, let's just wait to see Jeb get the nomination before we decide to act.  What a plan.  Of course, if you read the article and the links, you would know that having some of the candidates implode and get out of the race is part of the GOPe plan.  It was part of the plan to start with.  This is simple math.  Get out your calculators and do the math.  That is what politics is now.  get used to it.  You, Gayla, pray for Cruz.  Ernest prays for Carson.  Someone else prays for Fiorina, Rubio (ugh), Huckabee, Walker.  See the problem?

Comment by Pat J on August 17, 2015 at 4:37pm

Gayla is right on one point: Huckabee is a big government guy.  But it doesn't matter because he isn't raising any money.  It doesn't matter about Cruz, either, because the fix is in and those like Gayla will help elect Bush because she is committed to Cruz.  Who cares who is the best possible next president in the field of 17?  17!  Clearly by design.  It's not that Gayla and Beck are not right.  It's that it doesn't matter.  This article was a jolt into reality for me.  See, before reading this, I was torn between Walker and Fiorina for different reasons.  I think Carson is a great guy but he has some liberal beliefs, too.  Cruz is the smartest guy in the race.  But who cares.  None of the candidates will win.  The conservatives will give the election to Bush in exactly the same way they gave the governor's race to Ducey.  How many times do we need to experience the same sad lesson?  Yes, Gayla.  Be careful what you wish for.  I wait for the next installment of this series.  What will that reveal?  Eh?

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
