County Recorder Takes Unprecedented Steps to Enfranchise Voters in Light of COVID-19 Concerns

WOW, What a guy!  Let no crisis go to waste.  Ballot harvesting on steroids.  There is a feeling in the election community that Biden will definitly win this PPP.

PHOENIX - As a means to protect voters’ health while maintaining their access to the ballot, Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes took the unprecedented step today of sending ballots by mail to all voters that typically vote on Election Day and are eligible for the Democratic Presidential Preference Election, scheduled for March 17.

“We are in unchartered territory with the COVID-19. My first concern is to protect the health of the voters and staff who work in the polling places while maintaining the integrity of the election. Anything we can do to minimize human interaction in the polling place is what we must to do,” Fontes said.

By mailing out ballots, most voters will now have the option to just drop-off the voted mail ballot at a voting location without going into the polling place or engaging with other voters and staff in order to vote. This will allow voters to keep to “social distancing” protocols recommended by health officials and still have the opportunity to cast a ballot.

“This action of sending out the mail ballots is done in support of what the Board of Supervisors is doing to keep as many polling places open as possible,” Fontes said. “The Recorder’s Office is doing all it can to support their Election Day effort. We want that plan to be as successful as possible in making sure voters have options and availability to cast their ballots.”

Fontes said he made the decision to mail out the ballots to traditional Election Day voters who are not on the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL) following a series of cancellations by polling place locations and election worker staff.  There is also a lack of cleaning supplies available to meet County Health Department directives for preventing the potential spread of disease in the polling places.

“The Board of Supervisors is doing all they can to keep polling places open, staffed and clean and I applaud their efforts. But I felt this additional option was necessary to serve our voters,” Fontes said.

Fontes acknowledged that the law does not contemplate this type of situation but felt that, as the elected official responsible by law for early voting in Maricopa County, the health crisis creates an emergency situation that demands decisive action to protect the public health.

“There will be some who will say there is no authority to mail ballots to all voters under the law, but there is no prohibition either. [Democrat reasoning at work!] Considering this unprecedented emergency situation, [And what exactly is the emergency?  Are hundreds of people dying in their beds?] we need to act to both enfranchise the voters and protect public health. This plan accomplishes both of those goals,” Fontes said.

Voters will likely receive their mail ballots on Monday and Tuesday and are advised that they should NOT mail back the ballots. By law, all ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Voters should instead DROP-OFF the ballots at one of the many locations available to vote over the weekend, on Monday and on Election Day. The voting and ballot drop-off locations can be found at

The Presidential Preference Election is Tuesday, March 17.

NOTE: So much for all of those weary republicans who planned to work the polls to get a glimpse of what Fontes plans to do to capture the votes for the dem favorite candidate: Biden.  With a repeat in August and November.

Just another cog in the wheel house of .... Marxist socialism "it's for the children". Does this guy EVEN KNOW that this "virus" with very moderate flu-like symptoms that only really effect the elderly with previous respiratory problems or a compromised immune system.

I received the following from a Stanford Medical School Board member:

- Not ONE person worldwide under the age of 50 has died, no one under the age of 30 has been infected. Why? Our immune systems works.

- Worldwide 80% of all cases are in China.

- The U.S. death toll is 41, all over the age of 80 ... and WITH previous respiratory problems.

- The majority of US cases are from ONE senior living center in Washington state.

What to look for .....

  1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold.
  2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
  3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 80 degrees .... It hates the Sun.
  4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
  5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a soap for at least 20 seconds.
  6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. but normal laundry detergent will kill it.
  7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
  8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
  9. You should also gargle as a prevention ... A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
  10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!

  • It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
  • The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia ... this takes about 5/6 days.
  • With the pneumonia comes high fever as the body's immune system fights it, and difficulty in breathing.
  • The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention. Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases:
    • Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry.
    • Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus.
    • If you don't drink enough water, you're inviting this Virus in which will enter the windpipe and into the lungs to live and grow.

How can this county recorder get by with making this decision on his own? When was the last time the vote rolls were made clean? I would  be surprised if there were not problems with identified folks addresses.

Didn't these same Supervisors establish an "Election Department" to take the election function OUT of the County Recorders Office???

ALERT:  The AG went to court on this.  The Dem Secretary of State was also against this.  The courts ruled for the AG.  There will be no all mail in ballots.  Sorry, Fontes.  You will have to go back to plan A to cheat!

Fontes should be physically removed from that position.

This is not a reaction to a crisis but a maneuver to never let a good crisis go to waste.  Slimy Fontes could teach the DNC how to cheat.

How virtuous of Fontes. We don't need this virus to be sick, we have him. Great info. by Kathren Coleman & great perspective by John5319.
