Arizona Citizens Supporting Honest Representative Government At All Levels
Ask around and you will hear only the most establishment person saying McSally can win her Senate seat in 2020. In a time of personality politics and in a time of high enthusiasm for President Trump's re-election and given McSally has not supported our president on some very important immigration policy, most of us think we will end up with two democrat Senators with McSally as the Republican candidate. Perish the thought. That would be the ultimate insult.
This man is not a candidate... at least, publicly. Yet. But read on and see what you think. Another Steve Gaynor, coming out of nowhere? Plenty of money if he choses to use it. He couldn't make the same mistake as Gaynor: spend $4.5million against his Republican opponent and very little to win in the General.
So here is a possible candidate to take on McSally in the primary. There is a survey to express your feelings about this man becoming a candidate.

I've known McCarthy for a couple of years and have had a half dozen detailed or more conversations before 2019.
Smart, Grounded, Strong, Civil, Firm, Winner. - We'd be fortunate to have him as a candidate for any office in Arizona.
If Alex Meluskey is behind Daniel McCarthy, I think he would be a good candidate. Alex knows what it takes to run for Senator and could be a very valuable asset.
I know nothing about McCarthy nor whether he is capable of winning. I do know that McSally was McConnell's pick; that she is about as exciting as a mashed potato sandwich; and that she lost to Sinema who should have been handled rather easily.
I do not know him personally but have read and picked up info here and there. He was a big Trump supporter as well.
I have also heard that the RNC has requested he stand down. If that is true then in my eyes he is a good candidate to primary McSally. At this point what do we have to lose?
If the RNC is asking him to stand down, we need to get behind him. I can't digest AZ as having two dem senators. Which is what we will have with McSally. I went to the survey and begged him to run. You should all do that. We have nothing to lose that we are in line to lose already.
A month ago I receive a report on the vetting group of about 18 folks who had lunch with Daniel and how impressed with him they were. I know of most of the folks who were at that meeting and respect their positive viewpoints. It will be an uphill battle to go up against the RNC and the RNSC who will dump tons of money into McSally's campaign. But, Daniel will be a lot more of a Freedom Caucus type of guy and a lot better for AZ. I am looking forward to hearing of his decision to run, and will get behind him. McSally is so insulated by the McCain machine, we cannot even get to her to train her to be the Senator she should be for AZ. So, I say, Daniel... Go for it!
Please take Pat J's advice: go to the link and send in that survey to encourage this guy to run. He's quite wealthy and we have no doubt he can spend what it takes... providing the election is fair and honest!
We do not need to be dictated by Party leaders on who is going to be the Republican Candidate for Senator of Arizona. I see nothing wrong about a Primary deciding the winner. I also want both candidates to support each other if they should lose in the State Primary Race. Without that commitment from both candidates, Mark Kelly will win in the final race. Arizona is in a state of Insanity because of Moderate Republicans, and McCain, Kyl, Flake, and outside money! May the best Candidate win the Primary. From a successful Real Estate Couple.
Good advice!
Absolutely go for it!
The GOP needs to change the primary date: August is simply too late in the game for the winner of a contested primary to raise the funds required to defeat a democrat with no primary race. Andy Tobin was speaker when the change was made and it came back to bite him in his race with Kirkpatrick in CD1. Who knows what the republicans were thinking of when they fixed such late primary date.
It's the State Legislature who has control of the Arizona Primary date. This has been kicked around a few times but given the way our legislature works, don't look for a change any time soon. Since the legislature can stay in session well into May, as we just saw, that leaves little time for lawmakers who plan to run for re-election to get signatures to make the cutoff date. Then it leaves little time again to actually campaign for the primary. It's a conundrum!
