Congress Releases the $1.3 Trillion, 2,232-Page Omnibus Spending Bill - Trump Threatens to Veto

[Editor: If Pres. Trump signs this abhorrent bill into law, he is guilty of breaking a promise on which he got elected. The Congress sweetened the pot by throwing in money for the military that Trump asked for. But the "budget" funds everything moral people are against. Is that a fair trade-off? The Government Shutdown has become the club wielded routinely by the media/leftists on both sides to force actions that normally would not be taken. America has sustained many government shut downs over the years. In fact, some would like to shut down the government permanently! We have to ask: why do we pretend we have a two party system?  When is a "budget" not a budget at all? Clearly, laws are made to be broken.]

Lawmakers released the $1.3 trillion, 2,232-page omnibus spending bill on Wednesday night, which Congress has to pass by midnight Friday to avert a government shutdown.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said [gleefully] on Wednesday night, “Every bill takes compromise, and there was plenty here, but at the end of the day we Democrats feel very good because so many of our priorities for the middle class were included.” [Just to be clear, let's define "compromise" as Schumer defines it: Congress gets what they ALL want, the American people get funding for Planned Parenthood, sanctuary cities, border "fences" but no wall, more debt that can't be paid off.]

The budget shocked conservatives, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), as it flies past the spending limits set by the Budget Control Act of 2011. [emphasis added. The Congress is very good at re-defining words.]

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) struck a deal in February [emphasis added] to increase domestic and military spending by nearly $300 billion over the next two years. The bill includes an additional $90 billion in disaster aid for states and localities affected by last year’s hurricanes and $140 billion for emergency military funds.

Jason Pye, vice president of legislative affairs for FreedomWorks, said, “Republicans don’t know how to stop spending money.”

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that our national debt has skyrocketed in recent years to untenable levels.

“This year, we’re looking at a deficit of $750 to $1 trillion. Next year, the estimate is $1 trillion or more. I have to wonder if there is any way that we can avoid a national insolvency or bankruptcy.”

[In the meantime, Pres. Trump is threatening to veto the Bill.  He should.  Call their bluff. Except for the most ignorant among us, a big group for sure, most voters are slowly awaking to the fact while government is destroying the future of America, socialism and globalism is alive and well.]

[And remember that mantra after Obamacare was passed: READ THE BILL?  These so called "lawmakers" had exactly 17 hours to read a bill of 2232 pages AND to understand what was in it.  How many staffers does it take to get through a pile of paper that high?   Nancy Pelosi is very happy today.]

I can't recall the last time if there ever was one where I was pleased with bloated spending by any government.

Words coming out of "leadership" calling it a win, is like winning the chance to clean out the latrine.

I have to wonder if the establishment Republicans (e.g., the disHonorable Mitch McConnell) hope President Trump vetoes the horrendous Omnibus so that they can facilitate the Dems and their media loudly blaming him for shutting down the government, a likely outcome of the much-needed veto.

Shut it down drain the swamp

202 456-1111 Call the White House and let President Trump know that if he signs this bill, he is just like every other swamp creature! I could care less how the media plays this. Fact is the Republicans will lose the House and Senate if President Trump signs this bill...I believe he knows that, too. Shut Down the Government and stand strong against the swamp!

Trump has revealed himself to be a liberal spending idiot .. and we all believed and took him at his word to shrink the bloated swamp waters. With his signing of this 2nd highest government spending bill in history, and adding more trillions to our children's debt, he has cost America our future. He will lose republicans in the House and Senate, and have to give in to Demon-crats during his LAST 2 yrs in office. Then we will get the dismissal of these "tax cuts" for our families once again, just as what happened after Reagan left office and these liars took over to spend us into B A N K R U P T C Y ... and more debt to China. Mr. Trump you really think tariffs on Chinese good matter ... they OWN OUR Debt !!!!!!

Get off you personal ego trip and realize that you have given us nothing but "crumbs" as Republicans & Demon-crats always do.

The DC Establishment's McConnell, Schumer, and Ryan just handed President Trump a huge and humiliating defeat from which he may not politically recover.  Trump's supporters are disgusted and demoralized and may stay away at the polls, wasting away any political capital he may have had; and the circling DC Establishment from both parties smells blood.  We can likely expect more trounces of Trump coming forth, me fears.
