Lines was elected to the AZGOP chairman with the extraordinary support of then Chairman Robert Graham. Former Chairman Robert Graham was fighting to maintain power for the Party’s McCain-centrist establishment.

ADI pointed out several key facts in the article "Graham Continues To Push Lines, Disenfranchise Arizona GOP Grassroots" located at:  Arizona Daily Independent.  The following excerpts are from that ADI article. - Some emphasis added BMP

Graham has moved to illegally block the participation of 119 state committeemen in Legislative District 23 (LD23).

Control of the Party means control of the money.

Given the fact that Graham had badly damaged Arizona’s relationships with the RNC during Reince Prebius’s tenure, Graham has had to rely on other money sources to keep the state organization alive. As a result, whoever takes over the Party will have to mend relationships and create a more
diversified funding pool.

In a video, LD23 member, Tim Horn explains the issue and describes Graham’s efforts in great detail.

NOTE: The video at: https://youtu.be/uGB_VhsaCcc?t=8 provides an excellent description of the Graham interference in LD23.

According to the Arizona Freedom Alliance (AFA), Lines has developed an interesting reputation in his
Yuma district.

AFA’s sources report that Lines is very “close” to the McCain camp. The source explained, “Precinct
committeemen both the ones now and those who were PCs before say he is an avid supporter of both
Senators (Flake and McCain). They say he consistently works in their primary campaigns as well as their General Election campaigns. That is what I have seen, too.”

During his tenure, Graham used his position to primarily promote himself. With ambitions to replace
Prebius, Graham focused more on winning support from other states rather than shoring up Trump or
down ticket candidates in Arizona. Because of his neglect, Graham was seen as someone who “doesn’t
do much for the Party.”

The following resolution source is unknown. I found it the bottome dregs of my document folder.

AZGOP State Committeemen’s Resolution To

Censure Chairman Robert Graham

We, the State Committeemen of the Arizona Republican Party (AZGOP), from which Chairman
Robert Graham was elected, are obligated to hold all of our leaders accountable for their actions.
Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we
are faced with both in as much Robert Graham is by far one of the worst Party Chairman the
AZGOP has ever endured. So with conviction we rise and declare:

WHEREAS, Chairman Robert Graham

has continued to violate the Arizona Revised Statutes, the Bylaws of the Arizona
Republican Party and several of the County and Legislative District Republican Committees; and

has repeatedly disregarded and disrespected the will of an overwhelming majority of
the AZGOP State and Precinct Committeemen; and

has conducted dictatorial actions that have been a calculated and insidious conspiracy
to purge grassroots and conservative Republicans from the AZGOP for his personal benefit, the
benefit of his cronies and the Republican establishment cabal.

BE IT RESOLVED that Robert Graham’s constant intimidation, bullying, overreach and unilateral
policies will no longer be tolerated;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the AZGOP State Committeemen have lost confidence in Robert
Graham and will no longer support him or his actions;

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED the AZGOP State Committeemen censures Robert Graham for his
continued disservice to our Party, State and Nation.

I do not believe the above resolution ever had the opportunity to see the light of day for an up or downs vote by State Committeemen. However, the Graham Resolution does serve as food for thought in regards to our current AZGOP Chairman Johnathan Lines.

The recall Lines movement has pointed out Lines violations of the Arizona Revised Statutes and the Bylaws of the Arizona Republican Party. Lines ignored the will of AZGOP State and Precinct Committeemen by promising to not hire Matthew Kenney and then caved to donors pressure and then turned around and hired Kenney anyway.

Additional questions and concerns with reasons for recalling Lines can be found Posted Wednesday, August 23, 2017 6:53 AM (Posted by MCRC Briefs | 8-23-17 Briefs ) Republican Briefs

Former Maricopa County Republican Chairman Lyle Tuttle to AZGOP First VC Parralee Schneider: Parralee, I FULLY support the Lines recall - do you actually think I am a "power-grabbing wacko"? There are solid reasons for the recall. I spent about an hour on the phone yesterday with one of the Board members who could not even come close to answering my questions. (Just for the record, I have been out of state with very little one-on-one contact -- hard to do when the 'powers that be REFUSE to share with me the names and contact information of the Board, my own district's State Committeemen, etc...) When I asked my questions, all I got was “I don't know, I wasn't there, it was not brought up,” etc....is the Board a flock of sheep?? Does ANYONE dare ask some simple questions and receive an answer?? Or are they called "out of order" and shouted down?? You are not a neophyte, and we have known each other for a long time.....what has happened to the Republican rule of law here in AZ??? You were ELECTED and have a RESPONSIBILITY to stand up for the PC's of AZ.....please do so! For example, you know Linda White - please help with the transfer of info from her TO the new ELECTED State Secretary.....Ask the simple questions and share the answers re other issues....for example, to allow the donors to demand who the new Exec Dir should be if we want their money is NOT correct - or do you think it is ok? Should the AZGOP be a whore for their money?”

Isn't it time to end the mis-directed leadership of the Arizona Republican Party (AZGOP)? It is time to return to the rule of law. It is time to revise the By-laws to reflect what the Precinct Committeemen/women and State Committeemen/women can support as a viable honest organization to aid the election of Republican candidates reflecting the Republican Party platform and principles.

IT IS TIME to RECALL Chairman Lines. If you are a State Committeeman/woman and have not signed the recall petition, please do so.

Drain the swamp
"Better late than never"

Excellent post once again, Mr. Piepho! We are in your debt.

It's not only about signing the petition. Recall elections cost money. If you haven't had a chance yet, please contact Marianne Ferrari and donate to the cause. Not just the Party, but everyone in Arizona will benefit from draining the AZGOP swamp!
