Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
From Common Core warrior, Jennifer Reynolds:
Here is a great review, from one of our CC Fighters, on the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) which is directly tied to our new Common Core Assessment that was chosen for our state in November 2013- Arizona's Measurement of Educational Readiness to Inform Teaching (AzMERIT). AzMERIT is contracted by the American Institutes for Research (AIR) which is tied to SBAC.
Whew, sick of all of these acronyms yet? I sure am! Let us continue to work diligently on our Common Core bills this legislative session that will drive out Common Core and AzMERIT. Here is an update on the status of our bills so far. Our Common Core prohibition bills will be moving in the House in the next week or so:

Are you confused on all of the steps a bill goes through in the Senate and the House before it goes to the Governor to be signed and made into a law?Review these two documents "AZ Legislature 101" and "Legislative Glossary" on our website here:
[Editor: go to azleg.gov and put the Bill number in the box on the upper right corner and go to Versions to read the bill language. It's good to know what the language is so you are sure to understand the entirety of the proposed law.]
