Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
"What is S1200? I never heard of that bill. How important can that bill be?"
We continue to hear those comments. SB1200 is not the kind of bill that raises the hackles on the back of the necks of activists. It's not going to cost the state any money. It is not going to increase centralized government. It's not going to change the lives of every voter in Arizona.
What it is changes the learning opportunities for kids in Arizona. It provides teachers with a way to set fires of curiosity in the minds of kids. Opens doors to new paths for careers. Covers educational territory that kids will not get any other way!
When Gov Brewer closed the mining and mineral museum in 2011 even through it made no difference to the budget or expenditures of the state, priceless artifacts and memorabilia objects in the thousands were hauled away, put into storage, handed to the Arizona Historical Society that hid them away, some have been stolen and sold on eBay. Priceless, not replaceable objects of learning!
The really good educators in Arizona are VERY upset over this. 25,000 kids a year went through that museum. 40,000 tourists a year went through that museum due to the high quality of information to be found there. The Arizona Historical Society who is supposed to be displaying these objects but aren't get only between 3000-4000 visitors a year. What is more important?
PLEASE call or email Speaker of the House David Gowan TODAY and tell him to push this bill through. It costs the state nothing. It simply transfers these objects from their hiding places to the Geological Survey so THEY can put it all back together. We scream about educating kids and common core and all of that yet deprive them of something extremely valuable to their education!

Do it for the children. And this time, it really IS for the children!!! AND IF IT DOESN'T GET HEARD THIS WEEK, IT'S ALL OVER FOR THEM ON THIS MUSEUM!
