Its surprising how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit
Below is a re-print of an article that appeared today in the Republican Briefs. We reprint for a couple of reasons:
1. Republicans can create more problems for themselves than the dems create for them.
2. There are rules about what the state GOP and the Maricopa County party can do but so often, rules are for others.
One of the rules in the Republican party that is long-standing is that until after the Primary, the party does not take sides with one candidate over the other. That rule has been violated by both the AZGOP and the MRC. In both bodies, currently appointed Martha McSally has gotten more consideration publicly and privately than the other candidate, Daniel McCarthy. McCarthy is just as viable a candidate as McSally and is currently waging a highly serious campaign.
We are on the cusp of having two Democrat Senators. The GOP at all levels better stop and think about whether McSally can defeat the democrat in November. The internal polls still say NO. An appointed seat-holder has a whisper of incumbency but it was not conferred by the voters. It's the voters who will decide the outcome.
From Republican Briefs 01/10/20:
US Senate candidate Daniel McCarthy to Maricopa County Republican Committee Chairman Rae Chornenky: The actions of the county party inviting a “Temporary Appointed Senator” in Martha McSally to speak is a demonstration of actions that insinuate a party endorsement for her candidacy. This same “temporary appointment” is also a candidate in the special election to fill the vacancy she is currently temporarily filling. Why would she have any more rights than anyone running for this special election with the Republican party. All or none in terms of speaking is the only way to demonstrate a culture of equal and fair treatment.
Currently in the 9th circuit Martha and Doug are defending themselves in an open lawsuit against them about this matter. It is out of oral arguments and awaiting a ruling.
The 17th Amendment: The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures. When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct. This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.
Take time and understand this person just lost a seat because many of the people in that room – our Republican base - did not and will not support her. Let’s make sure we don’t fracture the party more.
Gregory B: Great Job your doing ! Thank you very much. Marsha Hill, you are so right. Dupsy is an empty suit. A puppet of the McCain crime family. You can tell that Arizona Socialist University had its influence. Too bad he and Queen Kelly never examined the constitution. Some basic cliques :
1.The government has no money, it only has your money. (stop giving it to them)
2. The elected are Public Servants, making us their public Masters ! Hmmm.
3. Simple job, DO WHAT YOUR TOLD ! (maybe that is why they duck us and feed us hot air).
4. Provide a monthly activities report (so we know what you are up to).
5. Provide a data base for our input and direction. Stratify the results, and proceed accordingly.
We don’t need you to tickle our ears and feed us bulloney why you couldn’t get it done. If you can’t’ do these simple things, then get the hell out !
Editor's note: The Maricopa County Republican Committee should rescind the invitation for McSally to speak OR add candidate McCarthy to the program. If this were not an election year and if McSally was an elected Senator, we would see things differently.
Agree with this opinion. Even when evil Mccain was running for reelection the party didn't favor him in primary. This just wrong of them. It's hard to be a republican anymore. So little difference between them and the dems.
Can anyone point to the Republican Party "neutrality clause" and show us where it is written, in black and white? Thank you!
Angie - I suspect the neutrality is an unwritten rule. But that does not explain why the RNC discouraged Daniel McCarty from running against an incumbent - appointed or elected. The Elites do not want anyone to rock the boat. That is why I have not sent the RNC a singl dime and have stopped donating to the AZGOP.
That "neutrality" was removed from the AZGOP when controlled by Robert Graham, and then Jonathan Lines. They basically shut the doors to the PC's and State Committeemen making themselves the McCain faithful. This fight must be carried to the floor of the upcoming party conventions in January !
Joseph Stalin put it this way ..."“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves". The AZGOP is disarming the voters when they don't stand up for a righteous cause, the will of the citizenry and the Constitution, for we are not their serfs, nor they our Lords and Nobles.
I agree 100% with the Editors note. I also agree with Daniel McCarthy. It is my understanding the RNC and AZGOP are not to take sides or promote one candidate over another during the primary.
Thank you, Bruce! In total agreement that political parties are morally bound not to show favoritism in primaries. The purpose of a primary is to select from candidates, not to have one candidate preordained.
In the 2018 general election, the AZ State mine inspector Joe Hart received more votes than Martha McSally. We will select our own AZ Republican US Senate candidate Aug 4, 2020.
The upper echelons of our state government are positioning themselves to support the "RED FLAG " laws. This just goes to show that the governor, Kelly Ward and McSally worry more about their own agenda that what the voters of Arizona would advocate. I support McCarthy and his constitutional policies. I was at the MCRC yesterday and they let McSally speak as an honored guest but refused McCarty the same opportunity even though he had hundreds of signed petitions requesting him to speak to the delegates. More of the same. Thought we had gotten rid of the McCain cabal but guess they are harder to eliminate than termites..
Mike, roaches are among the oldest living pests on earth. They predate termites but science has recently detected that termites are social roaches. See, social democrats/social cockroaches. Any questions? Neither have any benefit for mankind that has been detected.
Mike - I resigned from LD14 as one of the Vice Chairs and also as a PC. Some of my reasons included the state republican party was a distraction for me. I now am supporting Demand Daniel McCarthy for Senate - totally against McSilly.
I really needed to separate myself from the organized party in- order to support a candidate. We will win. And Demand Dan will beat Kelly in November. I print the attachment and hand it out to neighbors or anyone potentially interested. It is paid for by me and not the candidate. That way I can take ownership of my support and opinions of the candidate.
Great flyer Bruce, except you spelled Daniels last name wrong at the bottom of the first column. Also you did not mention his stand on 2nd Amendment and Red Flag laws. We are having McSally at our Lincoln Day Luncheon on March 21st. Daniel will be there but not as a speaker. Based on the article above, we need to make it clear that having her speak is not an endorsement. I wish our chair would let Daniel speak too, but, need to bring it up to our Excom. We will see.
Shirley - Thank you for the bringing to my attention the typos. I will fix but I am not convinced Demand Dan's strength lies in the red flag laws or protecting the 2nd Amendment. I will emphasize the positive disruption aspect of his abilities which are similar to the disruptive techniques by Trump.
As the Lincoln Day Luncheon - normal protocol is to give any candidate 3 minutes to make pitch. If you like him bring him back as a guest speaker for another event. Ask your church if they would be willing to provide a speaking forum. We need to awaken all Christians.
I am fed up my disillusionment has now turned to a "I'm mad as hell". The establishment R's are now in my eyes Blue Dogs, I call them that for I remember well the Blue Dog Democrats.
