PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will seek applicants for appointment to District 2 Supervisor starting next week. On Tuesday, the Board accepted the resignation of current District 2 Supervisor Steve Chucri who plans to vacate the position on November 5, 2021.
Chucri resigned from the Board after he was caught sharing his opinion as to why his fellow supervisors were deliberately blocking an audit of the 2020 Maricopa County General Election. [RELATED ARTICLE: Maricopa County Supervisor Chucri Resigns After R...
In the recording of the March conversation Chucri revealed to Shelby Busch, one of the founders of the pro-audit group, We The People, that his fellow supervisors feared an audit. Chucri said, “Gates got scared because he barely won, and Jack got scared because he only won by 200 votes, and if there was an audit and a recount, which is pretty bullshit by the way, what would happen in those two races?”
