Unquestionably the most important issue in Arizona this year, this partisan Commission that is supposed to be a balanced Commission but is stacked with Progressives have their eye on turning Arizona into a Progressive state through gerrymandering the redistricting lines.  The battle is on!

Use the information here to call/fax/email Governor Brewer as often as possible to tell her to force the Commission to fire the Chair who reportedly lied on her application claiming to be an Independent as is required but instead, it tied to the Democrat party in countless ways.  Call/fax/email House Speaker Andy Tobin as often as possible, too.

PUT THE PRESSURE ON! KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!  Or learn to live like California!!!

this commision is being nether fair nor no partison, so far its a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing, they yet to get on the same page, there min. are two months behind, they keep changing meeting dates and times, the go behind closed doors to make a choice, transparent they are not, the mapping company they picked stand to make a great of money on the lic. the commision has to purchase, it has jumped from two to twelve now, no real end in site, I am working to confirm this, the mapping company stated there software had the ability to track emails that have the PHARSE AIRC in them, sounds like big brother stuff to me, we all need to watch this very closely, our state is at risk.

Today was a gread day for AZ! WE are getting closer and closer to having several more PEOPLE in place to dramatically expand this AFA effort. We have various Tea Parties and other Orgs that are joining or begining to refer their members here. Start to inform and ask others to come here daily to find out for themselves what is going on with redistricting!!! We may be actually out front of the Dems on this!!11

To the article about resdistricting and talking points: If this is all true, and I believe it is, this should be enough to get rid of Colleen. An independent lawyer needs to step up, maybe from the goldwater institute. The legislature then needs to write a amendment to the redistricting commission bill that makes the commission composed of two Dems, Two Republicans, and two Independents, with a 4-2 vote required for change. After all, they could say the same about us if we got an independent who was leaning conservative.Question: If the current redistricting committee finishes their redistricting map, do they then have to present it to the house and senate for approval? If so, the whole point is mute because we have a republican majority, and I am sure they know what's going on in the redistricting committee?

I have three criteria for determining involvement in an issue:

1. Is it really important to the group?

2. Is the available course of action likely to achieve the desired result?

3. Is there any hope at all that the result will survive court action?

Some times involvement is carried on even if all three questions can not be answered in the positive, but it is done with the idea of making  a statement, with no reasonable expectation of success. With Eric Holder and his gang at the helm, this may very well be the situation we are facing. We should make our wishes known at the hearings, as a means of providing ammo for a possible court battle, but it may be foolhardy to be distracted from winnable battles, like the Phoenix election, and the Pearce / DiCiccio recalls.

LATINO ACTIVIST GROUP IN CALIFORNIA - It's not just AZ fighting the redistricting battle!

The Los Angeles Redistricting Committee’s new constituency lines met with fierce opposition by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF). The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors provisional-redistricted map failed to generate a second “Latino-majority supervisorial district.”

From Sonoita TP and Zack Taylor:
A very interesting but long business meeting happened yesterday in Phoenix where Commissioner Herrera said HE WILL NOT BE PUT UNDER OATH by the Attorney General who wants to interview each commissioner. The article below also quotes Herrera "Democratic Commissioner Jose Herrera said he had no intention of answering questions from the Attorney General’s Office, which he accused of waging a partisan investigation on the public dime that unfairly targets unpaid commission members." ..... "That revelation prompted Herrera to declare that the Attorney General’s Office “should respect that we have legislative immunity” and that the prospect of involving partisan politicians in commission dealings was “sad.”..... then the article ends with...... “I hope you protect us. That’s what you’re paid for,” Herrera said, speaking to IRC attorneys." Interestingly, both Republican commissioners had no problem with being interviewed by the AG.k Taylor:

It's been 1 week since the AIRC meeting in Prescott. I asked the question "When will we see the Grid Maps" Of course I was immediately challenged that I cannot be answered publicly but I can be answered privately from the commission by 1 of 3 ways. I told the chairperson I prefer to hear the answer by email and I stepped up to her per her request and put my email address on the yellow form she handed to me. Guess what no answer. So I think it's time I notify my State Rep and find out how I can file a complaint.

Read this article in the Arizona Capitol Times on the redistricting commission members refusing to cooperate with AG Horne's investigation.  What are they hiding??? (a lot!)
