Arizona Citizens Supporting Honest Representative Government At All Levels
Email today your comments to Commission on Appointments (1) why you are unhappy with the selection of Mathis and (2) what you expect the Commission to do to appoint an "honest and impartial Independent.
For instance, Mathis was required to disclose that her husband was the recent Treasurer for a Democrat candidate running for office. Mathis was required to disclose that she donated to President Obama and to the AZ Democratic Party. The applicant must disclose any potential conflict of interest whether personal (husband), business (Mathis was selected in 2009-hum!- to disburse Stimulus money to U of A), financial, client, etc.
Please see below that Public Comments must be emailed to jnc.courts.az.gov by tomorrow 9am.
We need to let them know that the Constitutional Conservatives are watching and monitoring. Several potential candidates (Paul Bender) have stated that they probably won't run because of the current political climate-otherwise known as the Silent Majority-Silent No more..
AZ Constitution Rule 126-"…selection in an honest, independent, and impartial fashion and to upholding public confidence in the integrity of the redistricting process".

Did any thing worth mentioning happen at this meeting?
Yes it did. Check out the report that was posted last night on Watching Redistricting. In addition, the Commissioner from Apache County specifically referred to me and Ann Heins to help them vet anyone who applies and we will look to AFA members and group leaders to do that. It's our chance to impact that fifth IRC member and we need not to squander it. So if you know of any real Independents who would serve in the post, urge them to apply. Must be done by next Tuesday, Nov 15. Details posted in Comments on the Redistricting page. Please put out a call to your list.
